This August, Optimal Workshop’s crew will open their doors and will talk us through their engineering stack and how they solved some engineering challenges specific to the User Research industry.

Optimal Workshop has been a leader in information architecture tools for user research for over a decade. From humble beginnings in Wellington, we pioneered card sorting and tree testing. Talks

“How to have fun with a 15-year-old codebase” - Thorsten Böttger, technical lead at Sharesight for over 10 years, will be talking about his experience at Sharesight on how they keep it fun while scaling a 15-year-old codebase to the next level.

“Making deleted data useful” - Lucy Dement will be talking through the creation of a gem that allows Optimal Workshop to both respect their customer privacy and to understand how deleted users used Optimal Workshop’s product.

“Optimal Workshop’s story” - Gabe Young will share the journey of Optimal Workshop’s tech stack and talk through some interesting challenges they face.

Q&A

A Q&A will be organised in between talks to learn more about the company, feel free to ask some questions before the event.
